artist-management-clubMusic Managers face many challenges and opportunities in today’s music marketplace, including getting the right knowledge and information to understand the role of management, getting started in the business of artist management,  starting a company with limited or no funds, acquiring adequate funding for business and artist’s projects, gaining access to connected industry players and getting into the “inner circles”, getting their artist’s careers moving forward, knowing how to build contacts, getting exposure for their artists on a limited budget, figuring out how to generate consistent income for their artists, helping their artists to stand out from the crowd, dealing with massive amounts of competition, getting the attention of labels, strategic partners and/or investors, getting heard by the right people, getting their artists booked for paid shows in a tough economy, combating piracy and illegal downloads, generating “buzz” for artists, getting radio airplay, reaching the kind of people that can help their artist’s career, navigating past people that cling to the old rules, figuring out where their artists fit in the marketplace, making a name for themselves in the industry, finding new revenue streams, and more.

In this shifting music business landscape, the success edge will go to managers who are most knowledgeable, flexible and artist-management-office-buildingforward-thinking; and who operate with the right mixture of financing, talent, planning, and game plan execution. The purpose of this site is to illuminate the path upon which today's successful music managers and self-managed artists should travel to get artist’s careers on the fast track; as well as to provide useful information to artists seeking management representation.

To assist you along the way, we have put together a constantly updated Resources section as well as a series of relevant and useful articles. Most importantly, the Artist Management Manual (an indispensible PDF e-book which is now also available as a continuously-updated online subscription) stands as the definitive knowledge guide for both music managers and self-managed artists, while the Artist’s Guide to Management helps to get artists seeking management representation on the radar screens of music managers who can help take their careers “to the next level”.

The artist management landscape is vastly different today than what it was even just 5 years ago, and it will be vastly different 5 years from now. Our mission is to help you stay current with events as well as be on the leading edge of the music business revolution.

Artist Management Survey

This survey was originally designed as a way to conduct research for a white paper on the artist management industry. Since its inception, though, we have received great feedback from hundreds of managers who have told us that taking the survey has made them look at their new and existing businesses in ways that they never had before - almost like creating and editing a business plan for their businesses - and doing so has given them a greater appreciation for the businesses that they have put together. In that regard, we have decided to keep the survey up permanently even as we work on (and complete) the white paper.

This survey will take 5-30 minutes to complete depending on how detailed you wish to be with your answers. You will be able to save your place and continue later if you cannot complete the survey in one sitting. We respect your privacy, so none of the information you provide in the answers to the questions will be able to identify you individually, and any email address you provide (which is optional and only if you are interested in receiving a complimentary copy of the resulting white paper) will not be sold or leased to any third parties.
